Once students understand addition concepts using pictures and models, they can begin applying what they know to the standard algorithm. This resource is designed to help students make that transition while providing clear instruction, guided support, and plenty of opportunities for independent practice.
The packet includes three teaching guides that can be used to introduce and demonstrate the steps for solving 2 digit addition problems using the standard algorithm. One guide focuses on addition without regrouping, while two additional guides walk students through solving addition problems with regrouping.
Two guided practice pages give students an opportunity to work through problems with additional support. These pages include practice with both regrouping and non-regrouping problems.
Once students are ready to work more independently, 20 additional practice pages provide plenty of opportunities to build accuracy, fluency, and confidence with 2 digit addition.
Answer keys are included to make checking student work and grading easy.
All pages are available in both color and black & white, giving you flexible printing options for your classroom.
